Does Text to Columns Service still exist for Numbers?

I'm looking for a way to split a single column of text into multiple columns in Numbers version version 4.3.1 (5249) with macOS High Sierra version 10.13.3.

I have found several references to a Numbers Service called Text to Columns with a link to Dropbox, but I get a file not found error from Dropbox when I click on the link.

The text I am trying to split is a name, which I could do using formulas if there was just a first name and last name, but in some cases there is a middle name or a nickname or more.

Any suggestions?

Thank you!

iMac, macOS High Sierra (10.13.3)

In your instructions on using the automator app these instructions appear:To use, "first select the cells in the column then click the run button and answer the prompt. Click a destination cell once and command-v or Edit > Paste and Match Style to paste."

Just what or where is this run button one is supposed to click?

Here's an updated link to the Text to Columns Automator Service.

Double-click the downloaded .workflow package and give permission if necessary at System Preferences > Security & Privacy. Also make sure Automator.app is in the list and checked at System Preferences > Security & Privacy > Privacy > Accessibility.

To use, first select the cells in the column then click the run button and answer the prompt. Click a destination cell once and command-v or Edit > Paste and Match Style to paste.

Not sure what you mean by "does not go anywhere." Click the link and a file is downloaded to your default location (probably your Downloads folder). Have you checked there? It's working fine here.

Hi nevreb,

Your question doesn't appear to be related to this thread, which is about the Text to Columns Automator Service.

If you want to start a new thread and give enough specifics, someone here will try to help.

Ah I see. By mistake I gave the instructions for running a script from Script Editor. In this case the script is inside an Automator Service. Select the cells in the column, then choose Text to Column from the Numbers > Services menu.
