Do I have a problem with my graphics card?

I use my computer for work and gaming. After updating to High Sierra, a lot of games that used to work now have significant graphics issues and tend to crash. For instance, graphics (meaning pictures, images) appearing at randoms places on the screen.

Is there anyway to see if my graphics card is faulty?

I also have significant lag issues, which may be related.

I suggest starting by running the Apple Hardware Test on your 2012 iMac.

I actually ran one this morning, while running a video game that was showing low performance.

If you used com.bittorrent.uTorrent.plist to download any software you did not pay for that comes with a huge risk of infecting the system with malware. The only method to get rid of this is by doing an erase and install.

However there is also the possibility of a failing HD. You can attempt to boot into the Recovery Partition (Command + R on startup) and open Disk Utility and then run First Aid. While its not the best utility it's all you have. Even if the drive shows as okay that doesn't mean it necessarily is.

My recommendation would be to first do an Erase and Install and then manually install your applications. If that still doesn't solve the issue then I'd recommend taking it to your local Apple Store or Apple Authorized Service Provider for a diagnosis and repair.
