cant sync my iphone to my laptop

My iPhone is not recognized by my laptop. It will charge, but I cannot back-up or sync. I have authorized, de-authorized, and authorized my laptop; is still will not sync with my phone.

iPhone 6s, iOS 11.2.6

What Operating System are you running on your laptop and what version of iTunes?

You will need iTunes 12.7 or higher.
