Homepod not playing with Apple TV

So if I say, as an example "hey siri, play zootopia on Apple TV", the homepod responds with a "sorry, I can't do that". This would also go for something like "hey siri, play the Rolling Stones on Apple TV". It seems that while all my other Apple devices just love to talk to eachother, homepod doesn't seem to have any integration with Apple TV beyond setting it up as a speaker for the apple tv.

Is this accurate? Or have I not set something up right?

My home network is simple - Modem:surfboard - connects to an eero router - which is connected to a trendnet gigabyte switch. Apple TV is wired in through the switch and homepod, ipad, iphone, are all wireless.
