Mac A1082 Theatre Screen- Macbook Pro

Is a Mac A1082 Theatre Screen compatible with USB-C (via an adapter of course) Macbook Pro

the Macbook only has USB-C/Thunderbolt 3 ports.

at the moment i have connected USB-C port to Thunderbolt 2 to DVi - the Macbook does not detect the screen.

will a USB-c to DVi adapter fix this?

The only answer I have for you is that it might. Sometimes stringing connectors together doesn't allow the computer to see what's really at the other end.
