my iphone 6 sounds on apps dont work

My iPhone 6 apps work but the sound is not working. I’m able to answer phone calls and talk, however, no sounds can be heard from my apps, including YouTube. I don’t have any Bluetooth devices currently on and the vibrate option is off. I know I need a new battery but I don’t think that is causing this problem. I appreciate any and all assistance. Thank you!
