notifications swipe and phone resets

When I'm in an app and try to quickly swipe down to view my notifications, my iphone 6S+ brings up a loading wheel and restarts my phone to login.

Has been happening every now and then but can't seem to tell the actual cause other then being a bug on ios11 that isn't fixed.
