Messenger on iPhone 8 Plus

My new iPhone Plus only shows the number of my contacts in messenger. What can I do to fix the problem?

Can't add new contact from i in messenger iOS 11.3.1 I recently purchased an iPhone 8+ which is running iOS 11.3.1. When i receive a message from someone who currently isn't in my contacts, I attempt to add a new contact. When I click on the circle with the i in the center, a compose new message pops up rather than the new contact screen. Previously, I was able to click on the icon and add the new contact. Also, I can't copy the phone number to paste into contacts manually. I've restarted, restored from backup. Any help would be greatly appreciated since this is frustrating!I also don't think all my messages are going through if I send to multiple people in one text.
