Does the latest version of Apple Music still try to match every song in your local music library?

When I originally joined Apple Music at the beginning, it made a mess of my music library. Luckily, I was able to correct it and restore my original library. I would love to rejoin Apple Music but only if it would not try to absorb my local music library. I want to keep my local music library intact and be able to access Apple's vast music library for everything else. Is that possible now?
