virus scan?

I was just downloading a few font files when all of a sudden my desktop background changed twice on its own. I checked that “change picture” automatically every “x” minutes was not on. I must have a virus. Help! I have turned off the WiFi and Bluetooth, hopefully preventing it from doing whatever it’s doing. How do I find out what is going on?
