Watch2 and High Sierra - Unlock Mac has stopped working

I have a Watch Series 2 (WatchOS 4.2.2) and a MacBook Pro, now running macOS 10.13.3. Unlocking the Mac was working fine but now not at all.

It's hard to say the exact time this stopped but it is around the time I upgraded to macOS 10.13.3 (Feb 1st 2018).

Does anyone else have this problem, and hopefully a fix for same?

Hi

If you have not yet done so, then it may help to update your iPhone and Apple Watch to the latest software, starting with your iPhone:

Also check that you are following all of the instructions here:

How to unlock your Mac with your Apple Watch - Apple Support

Having the same problem with my Mac Mini.

macOS 10.13.3

iPhone X running 11.2.6

Series 2 Watch running 4.2.3

All was well until I updated them last Saturday.

I have tried all the suggestions in the above linked pages but no change.

If I lock the watch then the Mac says it cannot be unlocked by the watch, so communication is working at some level.

With the watch unlocked the message says 'unlocking with apple watch' for a few seconds them gives up.

Any ideas?

I am running macOS 10.13.3, iOS 11.2.5 and WatchOS 4.2.2. I have now moved to iOS 11.2.6 and WatchOS 4.2.3, alas unlock still does not work. I can't see anything alluding to it in the system log (see below 13:00:07 showed on the clock when I logged back in after sleeping my MacBook Pro. Had just rebooted after upgrading iPhone and Watch).
