Ipad mini question

I have a really weird thing to discuss: i just plugged my ipad mini (1st generation, 9.3.5)into the wall to charge and for no reason at all it just went to the "Activation Required" screen and now I can't use the device. I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem. If so can you please help me with this because this has also happened on my ipad 2.

Now when I attempt to turn it on... It wants me to set it up again but when I get to the activation screen, it pops up with an error saying unable to activate and a shutdown button. For the second time my new iPad Pro 14 has bricked. I bought an iPad Pro 14 two months ago. Day two it bricked. I sent it to Apple support who promptly replaced it. That replacement just bricked again. I'm not a heavy users, I'm retired and it never leaves the house. What happened is that I noted the charge was low so I plugged in the USB-c cable and let it charge overnight. In the morning it simply will do nothing. Attempting to reset, still nothing. WTF?? Is this a common problem or a known issue?

Ipad I closed down old iPad when I purchased a new one. Several months later I’m trying to charge the old one and it won’t charge. Any ideas?
