iPhone 5 has no ‘show my caller id’

My iphone 5 does not have a ‘show my caller id’ option/button. When I call people it shows up as ‘unknown number ‘ or ‘private number ‘. I did not change this on my phone. When I go to ‘Settings’, then ‘Phone’, there is No ‘Show my caller id’ option anywhere. I’ve searched everywhere for it. Help....

iPhone 5, iOS 10.3.1

Correct. Only iPhones on certain cellular networks (GSM) will have Show Caller ID. See "Caller ID" here:

Contact your cellular carrier about showing your caller ID. In the U.S., you may dial *82 before a telephone number to show the caller ID for that call. For example, if you were calling (987) 654-3210, you would dial *829876543210.
