Unable to update Garage Band

Old apple ID has been deleted but garage band update [10.1.6 to 10.2] will not work with new apple ID .

[unable to backpeddle to old ID]

Correct 'device' [iMac 27"] and serial no appear in app store.

[tried deleting device/ reinstalling on appstore prefs but did not work]

GarageBand 10, OS X El Capitan (10.11.6)

Are you now in a different country, or why did you change the AppleID?

GarageBand 10 is now free on El Capitan. Instead of trying to update or reinstalling, you could purchase it again from the AppStore using your new AppleID.

  • Move GarageBand to the Trash, but do not empty the Trash.
  • Then open the AppStore, sign in with your current Apple ID.
  • Open the first tab of the App Store, search for GarageBand, and click the "Get" button to the right of GarageBand.
