iCloud function missing

HI. When I go into my icloud options on my Macbook, there Desktop and Documents sync button is not there. Where has it gone?

Also when I manually add photos or documents into icloud folder on my Macbook it never syncs when I check it via the icloud website. icloud is on and it works perfectly from my iphone so don't know where I'm going wrong. So frustrating!

I have the latest updates on all devices.

Click on Options... next to iCloud Drive.

There you have the following. Note that this will store in iCloud everything that you put in either Documents or Desktop.
