Macbook Pro (late 2011) login freezing up after MacOS High Sierra update

Hi Apple community,

I'm having trouble logging into my MacBook Pro. Every time I submit my password it begins to load and then freezes at 100%.

Some history...

I downloaded/cloned a Github "dotfile" repository where I ran a bootstrapper script that pulls in the latest version and copy the files to my home folder. Here's the link [ https://github.com/mathiasbynens/dotfiles ]

Here's the exact command I ran (check out the link if you want more details).

git clone https://github.com/mathiasbynens/dotfiles.git&&cd dotfiles &&source bootstrap.sh

The download finished successfully however, I noticed that my all of my bash shells (Terminal, iTerm, Hyper.js etc.) were severely slow. Every command line input took at least 60+ seconds to provide any output.

After 30 min of pure frustration, I Decided to update my MacBook PRo to MacOS High Sierra 10.13.3 (I think...)

I had already upgraded to High Sierra for it's original release. Yesterdays install was the "Extended/Optional" version (can't remember the exact name/version number).

Anyways, the install completed and computer booted up as normal. The command line was still running at snails pace.

I woke up early Monday morning to get some work done. Computer was shutdown all day Sunday and now it won't even startup after submitting my password. I've tried everything possible and I'm basically at the point of erasing my disk and starting a fresh.

Here's what I've troubleshooted:

1. I resent my Mac's SMC.

2. I resent my Mac's NVRAM.

3. I booted up in Safe Mode (still froze after logging in).

4. I booted up in Recovery Mode and ran Utilities Health check (everything came back clean).

5. I reinstalled MacOS then. (Failed to reinstall after 100% install)

Not sure why it failed after reaching a100% download. Any help would be greatly appreciated and sorry for writing a novel.

Thanks!

MacBook Pro, macOS High Sierra (10.13.3)
