Audio is not importing to Final cut pro or imovie

Since I updated Final cut pro and imovie audio is not importing with video content from mini dv tapes

Any suggestions on how to fix this.

Final Cut Pro X, iOS 11.2.6

Audio not importing with videos I import I recently had some old VHS tapes digitized and am building a collection within iMovie. I was presented with ~24 individual *.mp4 files from the company that did the digitizing. All the files are the same file type and of similar size. For some reason, I can easily import them into iMovie, however some of the files come in with audio and some without. I can play all of the movies within QuickTime with no problem. I'm so frustrated after spending hours trying to figure this out. Any help would be much appreciated!!! Thanks,

No Audio when importing Video When importing Video into FCP there is no Audio. Storage Location is in Library. Doesn't matter which fileformat or container. Happens with video from DJI, from Sony and Canon. .mov and .mp4 In Preview and QuickTime there is no issue with the sound at all - it plays. Imported in FCP - no waveforms and no sound-output. Usually solved by "Reveal in Finder" and "Drag&Drop" the clip again.

m4v files play no audio in iMovie I have converted 4 GB of VOB files to m4v using VLC's Convert & Stream function. When loaded into iMovie 10.1.14 no audio will play. I am attaching a screenshot with file info. What can I do to make these files editable in iMovie?

Try capturing using the QuickTime player. See if that works.

What OS is this btw?
