Apple IDs are designed to be used by one person only. They are not designed to be used as a way to monitor someone else's activities. I suggest that you make your daughter her own Apple ID. Make use of the parental controls available on the iPhone and see what services your carrier offers. There are browsers available in the app store that will allow some additional control.

And, if you find that your daughter is abusing the privilege of having a smart phone, take it away and give her a prepaid flip phone for emergencies. The embarrassment potential alone may give her pause.

Oh yeah, you mean like the $10 Tracfone with postage stamp display like I have?? 😝 😁

Exactly. However, as an adult, you are not nearly as swayed by peer pressure (I hope!) and understand that you should by the best tool for the job. 😁

It would take a very, very large amount of money to convince me to be a teenager again.

A flip phone? Some people still use that. I kid you not, here in the Great White North. Probably for simplicity.

And, the batteries last forever. If what you want is a phone that makes and receives calls and possibly texts, they do the job at a great price. My 72-year-old brother loves his. I think more parents should give serious thought to them, especially if they have concerns about their child's ability to use a smart phone responsibly.

Maybe the foot of snow I see outside my window explains why I have one. 😉

Actually the 1400 unused minutes I have accumulated on mine makes it hard for me to justify anything fancier. I do have a hand-me-down 4S with no carrier for use in places with wi-fi when traveling.
