Iphone and apple watch pairing

I have an Apple watch. I recently upgraded my iphone 6 plus to an Iphone 8 plus. My watch is not paired with my new phone and I cant get it to pair. when I go to my watch settings it will not let me erase and restart so I can pair it. It says I have to unpair it because there is activation lock. I erased my old phone and traded it and sent it back to att. I dont know how to fix this because I dont have my old phone. Also my Icloud is greyed out so I cant log in again. Thanks

Well, at this point, I would probably contact Apple Support to answer that question (it's beyond my abilities): Get started

Here's how to get rid of activation lock: About Activation Lock on your Apple Watch - Apple Support

If you can't access your iPhone or Apple Watch, or if your Apple Watch isn't paired with your iPhone and you need to turn off Activation Lock:

On a computer, go to iCloud.com and sign in with your Apple ID.

Go to Find My iPhone.

Select All Devices, then click your Apple Watch.

Click Erase Apple Watch. Select Next until the device is erased.

Click next to your Apple Watch.

ok I found it and did what you said. It says my watch will erase when connected to the internet again. Its showing wifi so how else can I connect it? Thanks
