Duplicate "ghost" sources in Device dropdown?

This was a difficult question to pose.


I have been having issue with Adobe Lightroom not being able to connect with the EXT HDD where the photo library is kept.


Then I noticed that if I click on the arrow of of my main device in an "open and save" dialog box I see this:

The highlighted folders do not exist, and it is certainly what is confusing Lightroom, but I don't think Lightroom started the issue.


It is really creating a difficult situation with Lightroom.


It might have something to do with my cloning software, it seems that these "ghost" folders accumulate after I run SuperDuper for cloning purposes.


Any help would be greatly appreciated, this issue has been mucking up my Lightroom workflow for months.

They are called "false mounts" and here is a white paper on what they are and what to do about them.
