When I plug my replacement iphone 6 plus into the charger it says (this accessory may not be supported).

When I plug in my replacement iPhone 6 plus to the charger it says (This accessory may not be supported). If I turn the phone off and then plug in the charger, it will start the phone up and start charging.

iPhone 6 Plus, iOS 11.2.6

That message often comes from some sort of marginal connection. I've seen that with internally damaged cables (that work sometimes), although something that happens if there's debris in the Lightning port and the connection is iffy.
