Not quite. Safari is a browser. Chrome is a browser. Firefox is a browser. Opera is a browser. DuckDuckGo is a search engine. Google is a search engine. Bing is a search engine.
Browsers don't track where you go. Search engines (except for DuckDuckGo) DO track where you go.
However, (almost) all browsers tell any websites that you visit a lot of information about you, such as your IP address, the type of browser, what extensions you use, etc. And knowing your IP address the site knows roughly where you are located.
