Is the new update going to drain my battery life forcing me to buy a new phone?

I don’t want to destroy my phone with Apple updates so want to see how others think the update is before I risk it.

Does updating iPhone hurt battery in the long run I’m always hesitant about updating my 13 Pro because every time you update it it adds more stuff and the phone has to process more stuff which uses more power which leads to bad battery life in a long run so I was wondering. Does this update slow the phone down and shorten battery life again? I don’t want to install this update until I know my battery is not getting zapped. Does anyone know the answer to this that has already installed the update?
