iMessage on MacBook Pro

We are trying to set up two admin accounts on our MacBook Pro. I'm was able to get my iMessage set up successfully, so now I receive texts both at my phone, and on my MacBook Pro.

However, my wife is now having trouble with texts:

  • She doesn't appear to be receiving texts on her MacBook Pro account.
  • When she opens up Messages > Preferences > Accounts, it says "you can be reached for messages at," and then it lists her email address only (not her phone number, unlike my account, where it says that I "can be reached for messages," at my phone number, which is listed under that phrase).
  • My account's iMessages show a left-hand column with the names of all the people I've texted in the past week or so. My wife's iMessage account does not show any recent text exchanges, other than with me.

What should my wife do, to get her iMessage account set up, so that she can send & receive texts on her MacBook Pro account?

MacBook Pro, macOS High Sierra (10.13.3)
