can i recover text messages after my phone had been restarted?

Couple of weeks ago I went to an Apple store since my phone said “disabled” the representative said she was going to restart the phone like if it was new. Is there a way I can recover my txt messages? Thank you, I have very important information that I would like to recover. I would appreciate your help!
