Error 43 occurs everytime I try to delete a file or folder

Hi,

I always keep my Macbook Pro Mid 2017 up to date (macOS 10.13.3) but the error 43 does not get fixed. If a delete a file/folder from UI, a dialog appears to me saying that "The operation cannot be completed because one or more required items cannot be found (Error code 43)"; instead, using terminal with rm command, no errors occur. So, how can I solve this annoying error? Thanks.

This may be because either the Trash folder has been removed, or has the wrong permissions.

Using rm in Terminal completely deletes the file and does not use the Trash.

If the files you are trying to move to the trash are somewhere inside your home folder (either in Documents, Desktop, etc), open a Terminal window and type

ls -lad ~/.Trash

It should start with something like

drwx------

then a number, and mention your username and the group as "staff".
