Once your iPad is disabled, you are out of options.

Use your Lightning cable (the charging cable) and plug one end into the USB connection on your computer and the other end into your iPad. If the cable has a square plastic electric plug on one end, unplug the cable from the back of that so you can plug into the USB connection on the computer.

On the computer, make sure you have the latest version of iTunes running.

On the iPad, hold down the power button and the home button:

1. the screen will go dark - keep holding the buttons

2. the Apple logo will appear - keep holding the buttons

3. the iTunes logo (with a wire) will appear - you can let go of the buttons

On the computer screen it says there is something wrong with the iPad. Choose Restore. THIS WILL ERASE ALL CONTENT AND SETTINGS FROM THE IPAD!!!

Follow the prompts. The iPad will be ready to set up when it says Hello on the iPad screen.
