If I reset my Apple ID password will this prevent a lost Macbook Air or iPad from getting access to iCloud documents?

I left my ipad and Macbook Air at security in Seville. I may never get it back. I turned on lost mode and erase for both devices. As another level of security I changed my iCloud password. Will this prevent access to my iCloud documents and desktop by someone using the two lost devices?

MacBook Pro, OS X Mavericks (10.9)

Yes. If they cannot access your Apple ID account, they cannot access the documents.

If you changed the password in time, your documents are safe.
