Imessage wont work with one contact

I recently added a friend in my phone and he can Imessage me and it shows up as Imessage, but when I send him an Imessage it gets sent as a text message on my end, but he never receives it. Does anyone know how to fix this? Thanks!

IMessage working except for one contact My friend is unable to successfully send me an iMessage but sees blue bubbles after hitting send I can send iMessages to my friend but see nothing in reply. my friend is able to send iMessages to all other contacts but me. have tried turning off iMessage on both phones, restarting the phone and restarting iMessage to no avail. any suggestions on how to resolve?

iMessages I did everything I can to send text messages as iMessage. It workes for my other contacts but to the others, it didn’t. I tried the step by step solutions seen in browsers but nothing worked. The person I am trying to send iMessages once sent an iMessage before. He uses iPhone so iMessages shall be sent to him. My wifi or cellular data works properly.

This is on ios 11 the latest version and an Iphone 8 Plus! Don't know why it says ipod touch.
