i have an iphone x and when i use the macbook charger and the ucb c to lightening cable, it does not fast charge at all. i got a replacement phone and it still wont fast charge (used macbook, ipad charger, 5w charger)

i bought an iphone x and it did not fast charge. i used the correct method (macbook charger with the usb c to lightening cable) and i even tried the 12w ipad charger, but it will only charge at the same rate as the 5w charger will do. i got a replacement iphone x but it still will not fast charge. why is this?

How are you measuring the charge rate? It should go from zero to 50% in 30 minutes. However, it only charges at that rate to 50%. The charge rate then slows to avoid overheating the phone. From 50% to 100% will take about an hour.

One reason to charge the phone overnight, when you don't care about how long it takes. There are other reasons to charge overnight also.
