Payment information

I’m having trouble updating apps on my phone. Anytime I try to update or download anything it will tell me to put my billing information in (the same one I’ve been using for years and never changed) and after words it will tell me “your payment method was declined, please click billing information. If you cancel you may not be able to buy until this billing issue has been resolved.” Can someone please help me resolve this issue?

iPhone 7, iOS 11.2.6

If your card is being declined : If your payment method is declined, or you have a billing issue with a previous purchase in the iTunes Store - Apple Support


Or to see if you can remove it (which would let you download app updates) : Change or remove your Apple ID payment information in the iTunes Store - Apple Support
