How do you disconnect the airpods from the apple watch?.
I'm not going to upair them, but I use my airpods on different devices and after I use them on the apple watch I have to pair them again on other devices.

Yeah, you definitely don't have to unpair them. Just connect them to your iPhone using either your Bluetooth menu or your AirPlay as I discussed earlier. That will unhook them from your Apple Watch automatically.

I'm not looking to remove or unpair the airpods, just disconnect them from my watch when I need to use them on other bluetooth devices.
On the iphone you can disconnect them easy without upairing them, there must be a similar way on the watch?.
That only works on apple devices. One of the bluetooth adapters which I use to connect them to my tv doesn't even have a menu. If I put the airpods in the case they will eventually disconnect, but I can't see a way to do this manually.
Like you said if I have them connected to my iphone I can just press the airplay symbol and choose iphone instead of airpods and they disconnect.
Can't even find an option on the watch to turn off bluetooth.
You don't have to re-pair them with other devices! 🙂 Just go to the 'AirPlay' symbol on your other device and select the AirPods. See this article: How to AirPlay audio - Apple Support
Thanks. Should also be an option on the watch itself 🙂, but this will work fine.
I also found a way without using the iphone. Just put the watch in airplane mode and the Bluetooth will disconnect 🙂.
