Deleted IMAGENT now Messages not working

Hello - IMAGENT was eating up a ton of my memory so I deleted it , now messages doesn't work - "internal error, restart messages" Ive tried restarting the program , rebooting , nothing works...do I need to reinstall IMAGENT somehow??

Hi,


Do you mean you actually removed this "App." from this location ?

As you can see from the Path across the bottom it is in Hard Drive Name/System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/IMCore.framework


If it is this you removed then you have to reinstall the OS.

The file should have regenerated when you rebooted. If you have the old file, try putting it back where you got it as a test.


Try setting up another admin user account to see if the same problem continues. Also try the Safe Mode.
