Safari's Twitter connection out of date

When you elect to forward a page in Safari to Twitter, the increase in the character limit from 140 to 280 characters is not recognized. Everywhere else, but not in Safari.

I hope this will be corrected soon. The great convenience--of being able to forward a page to Twitter from within Safari--is no longer very convenient.
