I keep all of my iTunes music on an external (networked) drive, along with the associated iTunes library. It seems that FCP 10.4 assumes that I"m using the iTunes library on my iMac hard drive.
Is there a way to tell FCP 10.4 to look at the actual iTunes library file that I have on my networked drive?

If you hold the Option key during iTunes startup you can set any Library as the system Library.
Not sure if the path from an external will work, give it a shot.

It does work. Whichever library is set as the system will appear in FCP.
