I was visiting the Kennel Club web page and my laptop started beeping at me and took me to the apple web page saying my laptop has 3 viruses and it gave me the option to scan my files and to repair my “OS X 10.10 Yosemite”. Is this a scam?

From the message onscreen, and the opening of the browser tab it was probably a scam. Do you have antivirus installed?
