Hi All,
So I purchased my first Apple TV today. Connected it to my new Philips 55PUS6272 TV.
So far it looks great. Only hitch I have is that the Apple TV isn't turning on my TV when I wake the ATV from sleep. It DOES turn off my TV when I put the ATV to sleep.
Any ideas how I might fix this issue?
iMac (Retina 5K, 27-inch, Late 2014), macOS Sierra (10.12.5)
I've isolated the problem a little more. Actually the ATV does correctly turn on and off the TV. The issue is this,
When I put the apple TV to sleep, it turns the TV off, but the ATV itself DOES NOT go to sleep for quite a while and the white light remains on (perhaps for 30 mins or so). If I try and turn the ATV back on it's already on. So turning it on doesn't do anything to the ATV or the TV. If the ATV is actually off (the white light is off) then turning it back on does turn both the ATV and TV back on as expected.
I've seen some threads on apple forums about a lot of other people having similar issue with the ATV 4k not sleeping properly when it should.
Is there a known fix yet?
the tv has to support HDMI-CEC and it has to be enabled my ancient sony bravia even support it
The TV does support HDMI-CEC. As I said, it turns the TV off no problem. But doesn't turn it on....
