"Enter Apple ID password..." Then, "An unknown error has occurred."
How can I permanently register my Apple ID on my computer? Or if I have to re-enter, how can I bi-pass th "unknown error has occurred" message?
MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.6.4)

Thank you. Those solutions have to be temporary fixes. Can't Apple develop a permanent fix? This is so frustrating and huge waste of time. And it happens so frequently. Yes, I agree, I can keep trying until it works but it doesn't bode well for such a hi-tech company to leave it like this.

Do you have access to another network where you can try to log in? That has worked for several people.
Some people have posted they just kept trying and after 10 - 12 attempts it worked.
You are welcome. Based on one real experience I know of and a few I've read about, it may be 2 Factor Authentication if you have that enabled.
