how do i listen to the first track i recorded in garageband 2.3.2 while recording a second track?

I'm new to garageband. I want to lay down a track with chords and then lay down a lead track. I need to hear the first track while recording the second track but I don,t know how.

iPod classic, Mac OS X (10.6.8)
