iPhone disabled, plug into itunes... Still knows the password...

A friend of mine powered off her iPhone 7 and when it turned back on, it said " iPhone is disabled, plug into iTunes". So she still knows her password. She hasn't plugged it into iTunes yet, but I am wanting to know, will she have to reset her iPhone? Or will she be able to log back into it once it is connected to iTunes?

She will have to reset the phone, and she can then either restore to a backup or set it up as new.
