PREVIEW opening multiple JPEG files.

I only want to open ONE JPG, but PREVIEW keeps opening multiples at one time. I dont want to do this. I only want to open JUST the one I've selected...


What IDIOT at Apple thinks they know which files I want to open...


Tried the PREFERENCES in PREVIEW, but still any number of picture files open... Very maddening...

A couple of points about using Preview:

  1. System Preferences : General : select Close windows when quitting an app.
  2. Specifically close the image(s), just before you quit Preview
    1. Single image - shift+command+W
    2. All images - option+command+W


The combination of the above should end the multiple images opening on subsequent Preview sessions.
