Issues with Facebook Messenger notifications

Hello everyone,

In the last few days, I've been having random issues with Messenger notifications. Sometimes I get notifications, other times the app shows the tiny red dot letting me know there's a message, but no notification, and sometimes I don't even see the red dot and the only way to know if I have a new message is to open the app.

I have all notifications on, both in iPhone's preferences and in the Messenger app as well. I didn't change any settings in Notifications and the phone is not in Do Not Disturb mode.

One thing I've noticed is if I get a regular SMS text, I get a notification for that and, after a few seconds I get notifications from the latest Messenger text. After this happens, I start getting all Messenger notifications. It seems like something is blocking the notifications and after I get a regular text, somehow that unblocks it. Really weird.

I running the latest version of iOS (11.2.6).

Anyone else having this issue? Any ideas how to fix it?
