using kerberos nfs as home dir

I'm trying to use a kerberos nfs mounted directory as the home on 10.13.3 and I'm having an issue. It actually works but the system keeps bringing up the dialog "macOS needs to repair your Library to run applications" as for the user credentials. The dialog goes away and immediately comes up again. If I ignore it and move it to the side I can run applications fine.

My suspicion is that the system is trying to check the permissions of the Library file but can't because it's doesn't have access because it's kerberos. Any suggestions? Is it possible to disable the user Library check?
