Unable to access Root Directory of PowerMac G4 Desktop OSX 10.5.8

I purchased and older PowerMac G4 Desktop computer, no OS disks, it is running OSX 10.5.8, there is an existing Administrator who renamed the Hard Drive "Me", and his admin name is "Me". I do not know the password. Also there may be access for a guest user. Problem: I cannot us any commands to get the computer to boot into single user mode nor get the computer to it root directory to establish a new administrator (for myself). I have even tried clearing the PRAM commands to no avail. Every command still allows the computer to continue on through till its fully booted up. I need to get down to the root directory. A $20 computer is buying me a major headache... Your help is appreciated.
