Hello elliejoyfisher,

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities. I see that the Photos app on your iPhone 6 unexpectedly closed and all of your photos were removed. Then your iPhone unexpectedly powered off and you've been unable to get it to successfully turn on. I can definitely see how both issues could be extremely concerning. I'm happy to help.

First, follow the remaining steps in the link below to help get your iPhone powered on:
If your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch won‘t turn on or is frozen

If you were previously using iCloud Photo Library, it's possible your photos are located in iCloud. You can check by going to iCloud.com or following the steps below to turn on iCloud Photo Library on your iPhone:

On your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch:

  1. Go to Settings > [your name] > iCloud. If you're using iOS 10.2 or earlier, go to Settings > iCloud.
  2. Tap Photos.
  3. Turn on iCloud Photo Library.
