unexpected system shutdown on iPhone 6

I was looking through photos on my i phone 6 when the application closed down then when reopened 0 photos were detected. My phone then completely **** down, have tried to restart phone using home and off keys its shows the apple logo then returns to a black screen. Any ideas what I can do? Please help!

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities. I see that the Photos app on your iPhone 6 unexpectedly closed and all of your photos were removed. Then your iPhone unexpectedly powered off and you've been unable to get it to successfully turn on. I can definitely see how both issues could be extremely concerning. I'm happy to help.

If you were previously using iCloud Photo Library, it's possible your photos are located in iCloud. You can check by going to iCloud.com or following the steps below to turn on iCloud Photo Library on your iPhone:

On your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch:

  1. Go to Settings > [your name] > iCloud. If you're using iOS 10.2 or earlier, go to Settings > iCloud.
  2. Tap Photos.
  3. Turn on iCloud Photo Library.
