Play new music command

I tried asking Siri on my iPhone to “play new songs I might like” and the results so far has been very disappointing. The other day, it played an entire album from a group I’ve never heard of, and despite saying “I don’t like this album” it kept playing the next song in the album. And today is even worse as it started playing various k-pop music even though I’ve never listened to any k-pop songs on my iPhone. Saying “play less like this” will only skip the track and start another k-pop song! So how does one properly ask Siri to suggest new music? I’m planning to buy a HomePod, so navigating Apple Music via Siri commands is going to be crucial. Thanks.

Greetings, pdforta88.

After reviewing your post, it appears that Siri isn't behaving as you expect when you give it instructions to play songs you may like. The songs/albums selected for Apple Music aren't what you'd prefer and you'd like to get Siri on the same page as you are. I'm happy to help.

Refine your suggestions in Apple Music -- The first step in teaching Siri what you'd prefer is to refine the suggestions. Besides telling Siri what you love or dislike, follow the steps under "Update your choices".

Use Siri to play music or podcasts on your HomePod -- Although this article is HomePod specific, it has many great examples of what you can also ask Siri on other devices. After you've refined your suggestions, see if Siri is playing more of the music you enjoy.

Let me know how that goes.

Take care!
