Yes, of course. Hmmm, when i remember correctly, a grafic card must be "open GL 4.4 or better" to be metal compatibel (hello experts, am i correct?).

IN my mp 2010 i have a geforce gtx 980 ti ( GeForce GTX 980 Ti | Specifications | GeForce ) that is open gl 4.5, and i have the metal demo https://github.com/nickzman/rainingcubes succesfully running under 10.13.3.

Ask at http://www.macvidcards.com/ which of their cards is metal compatible, and compatible to your mp 2009. They have a wide variety from low cost up to high end.

greetings from germany

Chris

added: i am assuming you are talking of a MAC PRO 2009.
