I have iTunes on my PC, iPhone and iPad. If I launch an album on my Iphone or my PC, it plays the songs consecutively. However, on the iPad, it will play only the first song and repeat it over and over again. I have to man ually select each song. I have the iPad set to manually manage music when backing up and syncing.

No. I turned of both Shuffle and Repeat, resynced the iPad and the same problem -- endless repeats. The double advance arrow works -- but manually.
This only happens on the iPad, not the iPhone or the PC running iTunes. I upgraded the iPad software this morning.

Hopefully your backup is not corrupted, if so then you'll have to Restore again w/o using your backup.
OK then perhaps something went sideways with the update. Try force-quitting the Music app on the iPad. If that does not work, then restart the iPad.
Didn't work. In fact, it looks like the last sync doubled up some of the songs. This is whacked.
