Why won't music memos record in the background?

I'm not sure where else to place this obvious feature request.

Here's the deal: voice memos will record while your doing other things (ex. looking at lyrics on Notes, Docs, etc.) Music memos will quit recording as soon as you switch to a different app. I don't see how this could even be overlooked it seems so obvious to me.

Between this, crummy chord recognition and drums that are always a half a beat off, this application add no real value to anything and doesn't come close to filling the gap between voice memos and GarageBand. It does however provide a nice visual and the tags for the chorus, verse, etc. seem useful.
